This Friday, at dawn and during the morning, three criminal cases were resolved by personnel from the Citizen Security Secretariat of the Mendoza City in conjunction with police personnel from the province. In the operations, the Eyes on Alert system was used, as well as monitoring and persecution through surveillance cameras.
There were two robberies against tourists and an evasion of a checkpoint that ended with the arrest of the suspects, who were armed.
During the morning, a tourist from Santa Fe reported that his cell phone had been stolen at the door of a hotel located at 1500 Patricias Mendocinas Street. Preventive personnel began the pursuit of the thief, who was captured at the height of 9 de Julio and Peatonal, to later be transferred to the 4th police station by the police.
In another case, which occurred during the early hours of the morning, a woman was arrested who stole the wallet from a group of tourists on Arístides Villanueva Street. The novelty entered through the system Eyes on Alert and, with the data provided by the victim, a chase was carried out through camera surveillance.
The woman who stole the wallet made purchases for more than 115 thousand pesos with the victim’s credit cards. Once identified through the cameras, a Preventores mobile apprehends her and the cards with which she made the purchases, the merchandise and the purchase receipts at Arístides y Rodríguez stores are found. The woman was detained at the 6th police station.
Finally, also during the early hours of the morning, two people on a motorcycle try to evade the fixed checkpoint located in San Martín and Ayacucho. When they fled, the chase was carried out and both people were found, who were in possession of a firearm. Preventors together with police personnel arrest the driver and passenger, and the weapon and motorcycle are seized.
