The seventh of the most wanted cartel for gender violence in Antioquia is captured in Caldas

Authorities captured Juan Fernando Amariles Giraldo, a 21-year-old man, who was part of the most wanted cartel for committing crimes against women in Antioquia, because He is accused of abusing a minor in the municipality of La Unión.

The authorities reached the Guarinocito district of La Dorada, Caldas and captured the man for whom a reward of 50 million pesos for its location. Now, must face charges of aggravated violent carnal access.

“In the last few hours, in the town of Guarinocito, a 21-year-old man was captured, who is wanted for the crime of violent carnal access and who was one of the most wanted for committing crimes against women in the department of Antioquia,” said Colonel Liliana Jiménez Falla, commander of the Caldas Police Department.

With the capture of Amariles Giraldo, there are seven men from the most wanted cartel who have been prosecuted by the authorities in the last two months, but there are still 10 gender violence offenders pending capture.

Since the cartel was disclosed on April 25, there have been five arrests and two surrenders in different municipalities of Antioquia and the country, for being responsible for crimes such as violent sexual acts, violent carnal access and feminicide. In one of the cases, and thanks to citizen collaboration, The reward for the information provided is in process.

In recent weeks, officials from the Government of Antioquia delivered more than 3,000 flyers in different municipalities of the departmentamong them, San Rafael, where the crime occurred.

Outside of the San Rafael case, the other man who turned himself in was John Alexis Correa, accused of violent sexual assault aggravated by events that occurred in Remedios. Those captured so far are Arnobis Hernán Olea Soto, Edison Taborda Sánchez, Yeferson Mena Valoyes and Gerardo Antonio Zapata, for crimes committed in Gómez Plata, Jardín, El Catfish and Santa Rosa de Osos, respectively.
