In a security council that was held in Ocaña, the authorities of Norte de Santander and Cesar discussed the crime environments that exist in that area of ​​southern Cesar to improve articulated work.

“The police and military authorities were there, as well as the municipal administrative authorities. This allowed us to see the problems that exist from each site. There we see how thefts decrease in Ocaña and increase in the south of Cesar. All of this allows us to analyze the situation to take action,” he explained to The opinion the department’s Secretary of Citizen Security, George Quintero.

In this sense, Quintero assured that theft of vehicles, homicides and even that of criminal gangs In both sectors it is an issue that the two departments share.

“The issue of vehicle theft, homicides and even criminal gangs that steal in Ocaña and some from Ocaña that go to that area. We have some citizen coexistence activities, because on weekends they travel from Ocaña to picketing where they put the lives of the people doing it and the passers-by at risk. We discussed all of these issues in that meeting,” Quintero explained.

On the other hand, the Secretary of Citizen Security reported that in approximately 15 days there will be another meeting, where the governors of both Norte de Santander and Cesar would participate to strengthen agreements on military and police infrastructure for that area.

“A proposal was made to create either a police station or generate a security device in the sector between La Esperanza and La Pedregosa,” added George Quintero.
