Less than a year has passed since Antonio Monasterio Ensamble’s last presentation at the Teatro del Parque Cultural de Valparaíso (PCdV), at that time they were presenting their second LP “Las Furias y el Mar” (Mescalina, 2023) and were preparing their tour to Asia. This Saturday, June 22, at 7:00 p.m., they return to one of the best stages for music and performing arts in the country; and they do so with the national media’s recognition of said album thanks to the award given to them by the Chilean Copyright Society (SCD) through the Pulsar Award in the category of “Best jazz fusion artist.”

When asked about the concert they will present in the theater of the former Buenos Aires prison, Antonio Monasterio stated that “our concert on Saturday, June 22 at the PCdV is part of the celebration of our Pulsar award for the best jazz fusion artist 2024, for We will mainly play music from the album “Las Furias y el Mar”, an album that received recognition but also some from “Centro y Periferia”. our first album. We are very happy to play again at the beloved PCdV, since it is the perfect place for the show we will present, with excellent technique it will allow us to deploy various experiences for the audience, from light shows, visuals, etc. We will also have the presence of Tomás Carrasco and Moa Edmunds, two tremendous guests who visit us from Nepal, and who were a founding part of the ensemble. “It will be a night with a tone of celebration with our beloved Buenos Aires public.”

Meanwhile, Erick Fuentes, executive director of the PCdV, pointed out “that the first presentation of Antonio Monasterio Ensamble after having been awarded the Pulsar Award takes place in our theater, is a reason for the good work that is being done. We must not forget that we already had Manu Chao and La Brígida Orquesta on the esplanade, a band that also won a Pulsar Award this year. All of these actions contribute to Valparaíso, as it is a “Creative City of Music” recognized by UNESCO. We hope that you come to the Ex Cárcel to live the experience of this representative ensemble of the new jazz fusion that exists in the country.
