The professor of the Faculty of Education and Pedagogy Edisson Cuervo Montoya participated in the “International Meeting of professional training programs in Pedagogy and Educational Sciences”, held between June 12 and 14 in Bogotá, with the presence of representatives from universities from Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Colombia.

In this meeting, dialogues were developed on the forms of institutionalization of pedagogy in various countries, going through both the processes of professional training and the opening of new fields of professional development, beyond the school educational field, where, although its relevance is recognized and natural relationship with the professional practice of educators, there are multiple scenarios of occupational performance of pedagogues, such as organizational pedagogy, health pedagogy, legal pedagogy, “educommunication”, heritage education, among many other professional scenarios.

From the general conclusions of the event, the relevance of the presence of pedagogy programs in the country and the region can be highlighted, highlighting that professional support in educational and training processes that are not developed in the institutional school context, but rather They are deployed in multiple contexts such as the city, organizations, hospitals, prisons, communities, among others, they must be accompanied by suitable professionals, with a high critical capacity for reading the contextual realities of each country, territory and social and human environment. particular, as well as that their professional performance must be completely suitable for resolving and/or contributing to the training needs of such populations.

All of the above with the relevant agenda that was carried out with national and international guests, at the National Pedagogical University, from the reflection on what do we call pedagogy?; training in Pedagogy in Latin America; pedagogy as polyphonic knowledge, with its nuances, tensions and possibilities; in addition, the work meeting of the “Pedagogy Studies Network” and the closing conference on care and attention as a pedagogical problem. This event is therefore recognized as an important contribution to the development and growth of the disciplinary and professional field of pedagogy and of the already professional graduates in pedagogy from Colombia and the Latin American region.
