A police chase in Las Heras ended this Friday in a traffic accident involving the driver of a car that had an arrest warrant this year due to different events. The vehicle had also been reported stolen 5 days ago in the same department.

The incident occurred in the afternoon, around 5:00 p.m., on Acceso Norte and Manuel A Sáez, where the vehicle – a silver gray Chevrolet Corsa – ended up hitting one of the traffic lights after being chased by the uniformed officers.

Personnel from the Las Heras Commune also participated in the operation. First, a police cell phone joined in and then four more joined in, principal officer Pedro Rodríguez told Channel 7.

It all started during a police check in Dean Funez and Acceso Norte where the officers detected a stolen vehicle, whose driver and two other occupants tried to escape. One of them tried to flee through the Tamarindo neighborhood but was detained by the uniformed officers.

A van from the security forces and mobile phones from Las Heras intervened in the operation that began with a police chase.

After the crash, The two remaining subjects – among them a woman – wanted to escape but both were arrested in the neighborhood behind Hiperceramático. The man, over 35 years old, tried to hide under a bridge but was discovered. His accomplice had managed to reach the entrance to the Junín town.
