San Juan promotes educational inclusion for students with hearing disabilities

In a series of recent meetings with a group of parents and students with hearing disabilities, the needs of these students were discussed and the importance of having the necessary support so that they can continue their secondary studies was highlighted.

During these meetings, parents and students expressed the urgency of having sign language interpreters for seven CENS 210 students who have hearing disabilities. This measure is crucial to ensure that these students can continue their education on equal terms.

In response to this need, the Ministry of Family and Human Development will authorize for the first time a specific subsidy for the hiring of sign language interpreters. This subsidy represents a milestone in the province’s inclusion policies, demonstrating a concrete commitment to educational accessibility and equality.

The project does not end with the simple allocation of the subsidy. In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, articulated work will be implemented that seeks to establish a true inclusion process. This joint effort includes training teachers and administrative staff on disability and accessibility issues, ensuring that the educational community is prepared to support students with hearing disabilities.

The goal is to create an inclusive educational environment, where all students have the same opportunities for learning and development. The implementation of this program will not only benefit the students of CENS 210, but will also lay the foundation for future inclusion policies in the province.

The Secretary of Social Promotion, Dr. Ramiro Pavone, participated in the meeting; the Undersecretary of Social Promotion, Lic. Gabriela Rodrigo; the director of Disability, Lic. Paula Moreno; the director of Adult Education, Gabriela Moreno; and the director of Interdisciplinary Cabinets, Lic. Luis Lucero. All of them stressed the importance of this project and reaffirmed their commitment to continue working on this policy.
