This weekend is an excellent opportunity to get to know the Juan de Tejeda Museum of Religious Art, which houses an exquisite heritage, and says a lot about the history and idiosyncrasy of being from Córdoba. The municipal space is open to the public from Monday to Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and guided tours in the month of June are every Saturday at 11 a.m. The general circuit includes the origin of the site as the home of the Tejeda family, then the San José de Carmelitas Descalzas Monastery and finally the museum of religious art. In 1941 the place was declared a National Historic Monument. The entrance fee for Argentine residents is $500, Argentine retirees $300, and foreigners $1000. Children under 12 years old enter for free.

The temporary exhibition “Between Heaven and Earth” by Celia Pecini continues

The artist Celia Pecini exhibits in the Fragments of Paradise Room, a series of paintings made exclusively for this temporary exhibition that trace her life in connection with faith and religious art. Since her beginnings as a painter, the traditional images of Holy Week and Christianity have motivated her to capture the purest feelings of faith and hope on canvas. The exhibition can be visited until Saturday, June 22.

More than half a century guarding religious art

This is the exhibition of the permanent sample in rooms of the historic museum and its magnificent colonial patio and galleries. The Juan de Tejeda Museum houses one of the most important collections of religious art in South America in a 17th century monastic cloister. Outstanding pieces from a collection of more than 9,300 pieces are displayed around the patio.
