According to the Granma newspaper, the AEI is named after CubaRus and is the result of negotiations undertaken by the Weighing Instrument Manufacturing and Services Company (Pexac), the only one of its kind in this island Caribbean nation.
Belonging to the Electronics Group, Pexac presented the AEI CubaRus within the framework of the IV Cubaindustria 2024 International Convention and Exhibition, recently concluded in this capital.
After two years of productive strike, the new alliance will ensure the rescue in the country of the manufacturing of weighing instruments of different sizes, highlighted the general director of Pexac, Laura Hernández, in statements to Granma.
The productions, he specified, will be intended for all clients of the national economy, but in this first stage the catalog only includes offers for industrial and commercial purposes.
During the manufacturing interruption, the company focused its attention on repair, maintenance and calibration services for the weights already installed, since it lacked financing to acquire raw materials, he explained.
Sales for the domestic market from the AEI will be in foreign currency and exports will be aimed primarily at clients in Central America and the Caribbean, Hernández explained.
According to the specialist, the percentage dedicated to foreign trade will be a key factor to sustain the replenishment of the industry and guarantee higher levels of production.
Profits from sales will be used to protect social programs, some of them Public Health, with the manufacture of scales for newborns, he announced.
