Almost a decade ago, Vanina Hussein decided to leave her life in Chovet to start over in the Federal Capital. She hung up her blue police uniform to bet on a story with the renowned lawyer Miguel Ángel Pierri who over the years became her husband and also her producer.

During the pandemic, he decided to take the leap into the tropical scene and change the songs he sang in front of the mirror at home for work sessions with coaches, speech therapists, professional musicians and recording studios. Since then, she began to build her artistic career, aiming strongly at social networks where she has verified accounts and viral content on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Spotify.

“I always liked art, but I never imagined seeing myself on stage. I have friends who are artists and one day I told Miguel (Pierri) about my desire to sing seriously. He knows I love doing it. I did internal work, where having gone through the Police helped me gain courage and the bravery to face what I may not like and go after a dream. Being next to my husband helped me a lot,” he said in dialogue with this medium.

The former police officer is focused on continuing to grow and train within the artistic world

A confessed admirer of Selena Quintanilla (icon of the Tex Mex genre) and Jennifer López, Vanina assured that “every day that passes and I grow, I realize that I love what I am doing” and that “I embraced music with all my soul and I have nothing to regret, even if a performance doesn’t turn out well, I’m going to learn from that too.”

Later, he recalled that when he visited “small” scenes, he began to write songs, compose and make his first songs. “She was satisfied and confident in what she was doing,” she clarified.

Own style. He fused Santa Fe cumbia with Tex Mex and caught the attention of great artists of the tropical scene.

He currently rehearses several times a week with musicians with extensive experience, while adding collaborations with renowned national artists. His compositions seek their own rhythm through the mix between Tex Mex and Santa Fe cumbia. “It’s not easy to put together a band. I always have a high bar because I want to put on a very good show,” she admitted.

On the other hand, she announced that she will be co-host in the 30 years of a recognized place that is “Mitos Argentinos’”, closely identified with national rock and where a year ago she broke out with the tropical scene. “They also called me to co-host a tropical program. When all that is over, I am going to formally launch myself as a soloist,” she added.

He has job proposals in Chile, Paraguay, Spain and Miami. These last two arise because her husband is a FIFA agent and takes advantage of those trips to put together shows with other artists, conferences and meetings via video calls: “They are doors that I want to open. I am going to accompany and develop myself too, generating links.”

“Miguel is my producer and my lawyer. He takes care of contracts, talks with producers about programs, shows, collaborations. And I also take the advice, because he was a lawyer for greats of the tropical scene, like Rodrigo and Pocho La Pantera. He was always linked to music greats and is a lawyer for other singers such as Víctor Heredia, Juanes, Litto Nebbia, Patricia Sosa, among others,” he stated.

He states that “I would love to go everywhere, taking my music around the world” and that it is a “pride to present the songs I compose and have people dance to them.”

In the heart

In Chovet he has his three children, his parents, brother and nephew. Every so often, she returns to the place where she grew up. “The feeling of going is beautiful. God was great to me at that moment in taking me to that town that allowed me everything. I was lucky to have lived in Chovet,” she confessed.

“I have enormous affection for my people. It is a place that I have in my heart as if I was born there (N. de la R: born in the city of Santa Fe). My three children were born there, they went to kindergarten, primary school and secondary school. I feel a lot of affection for people, appreciation and love. He allowed me everything. “It was a place where I was happy.”

Essence

She is very confident in recognizing the place where she is today. “I’m being me. I reached this age very firmly. I worked a lot on my personality, fears, knowing that we have nothing bought in life,” she said.

Live with happiness the good, the not so good and the bad: “At this moment in my life I feel that I was successful in my relationships, in what I chose. My personal peace of mind and what I can give, what I do, is from the heart, knowing that I have a family behind me, accompanying me every day.”

And he continued: “I think you can see the personal growth I had, it was not easy. Growing up is painful. I had to uproot myself a little and I’m being me, which is what’s important. I worked hard, I was left alone with my children, maintaining a house and I can say that I feel proud. I worked day and night with them and today I have to enjoy. I know my children are proud of me.”

Meeting

Back in 2014, he was studying to be a criminal expert and met Miguel Ángel Pierri, at a training day in Buenos Aires. He was specializing in road accidents and the activity was promoted by the Altos Estudios Abogados Sin Fronteras Foundation, which the media lawyer presides over.

“I didn’t know it was a meeting for lawyers. I saw the teachers who were and were the best in the country. He didn’t teach the classes, I got to know him over time. “He looked for me on social networks, at that time Messenger,” he said.

At that time, Hussein was working at the Third sub-police station in Chovet. Some time later they formalized the relationship and have been together ever since. In 2016 they got married and in 2018 she asked to leave the Police.

A decade of accompanying each other. Vanina Hussein with her husband, the renowned lawyer Miguel Ángel Pierri

“I had two years of leave that I had not asked for. By internal law you have to take all the licenses and then you can be discharged. I retired as an officer and worked throughout the southern area of Santa Fe. I have very good memories and many colleagues that I talk to. “I give a hand where I can,” he remarked.

He maintains that this is a “closed stage” in his life of which he has very fond memories: “For me it was a pleasure to have gone through the Police. I had training and I took away very good lessons. It is a beautiful profession but poorly paid.” And he added: “When I look back I have a super grateful look for all the years I spent within the institution.”
