Mérida 22 (EFE).- Extremaduran athletes Alberto Ginés and César Castro have set their course for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
They thus join the walker Álvaro Martín Oriol, the canoeist Estefanía Fernández, the triathlete Miriam Casillas and the judoka Cristina Cabaña.

Alberto Ginés from Cáceres, Olympic sport climbing champion in Tokyo 2020, officially confirmed his classification this Saturday by going first to the bouldering+difficulty final of the pre-Olympic series taking place in Budapest.
He was second in the block semifinals with 69.1 points and behind the 79.3 of the Frenchman Sam Avezou and with the same as the German Yannick Flohé, with whom he shared the second step.
Later, in the difficulty semifinals, the Extremaduran climber, who already virtually had the Olympic spot in his hand, officially confirmed it by signing an 88.1.
This score puts him in the final with first place with a total of 157.2 and ahead of the South Korean DohyunLee (63.8+84.1=147.9).
This is the only one that surpassed Ginés in the general classification before starting this last pre-Olympic.

This Friday, in addition, it was confirmed that the Placenta swimmer César Castro will participate in the 4×100 and 4×200 free relays at the Paris Olympic Games.
The selection was announced during the penultimate day of the Mallorca Open 2024 by the Royal Spanish Swimming Federation.

The men’s 4×100 freestyle will be made up of Sergio de Celis, César Castro, Luis Domínguez and Mario Mollá.
In the men’s 4×200 freestyle, César Castro and Luis Domínguez repeat, as well as Carlos Garach and Ferran Julià.
The men’s 4×100 medley will feature Hugo González and Carles Coll, as well as Mario Mollá and Sergio de Celis, who will also be in two relays.
The women’s 4×200 freestyle will be made up of María Daza, Alba Herrero, Paula Juste and Ainhoa Campabadal.
