A 26-year-old man, known as alias ‘Ronaldo’, was captured at a police checkpoint. He had a warrant after stealing a woman’s purse in Bucaramanga.

The Bucaramanga Metropolitan Police reported the capture of a 26-year-old man, known as alias ‘Ronaldo’, who was wanted for the crime of theft.

The result occurred at a vehicle checkpoint carried out by uniformed officers on 28th Street and 7th Street in the Girardot neighborhood, in the capital of Santander, on the afternoon of this Friday, June 21.

When reviewing the identity document of alias ‘Ronaldo’ in the Police databases, it was found that he had an arrest warrant issued by the Fourth Court for the Execution of Penalties and Security Measures of Bucaramanga.

“This criminal’s criminal profile was to commit qualified robbery in the form of raping,” said Colonel Henry Yesid Bello Cubides, commander of the Bucaramanga Metropolitan Police.

The captured person is accused of having stolen a bag with money and personal items from a woman on Carrera 30 and Avenida Quebradaseca, on March 5, 2021. After the robbery, he fled on a motorcycle.

‘Ronaldo’ will be presented before a guarantee judge to define whether or not he will be sent to prison.

“So far this year, 547 people have been captured by court order and 445 people for the crime of theft from people,” added the Police commander.
