The ‘Milenio’ gang, responsible for drug trafficking in downtown Bucaramanga, is dismantled

In a joint operation between the Metropolitan Police of Bucaramanga
and the Attorney General’s Office, the ‘Milenio’ gang was dismantled, a dangerous criminal organization dedicated to drug trafficking in Centenario Park and its surroundings in the center of Bucaramanga. The action culminated in the capture of 15 members of this criminal network.

The arduous investigative work, led by the Criminal Investigation Section of the Police, allowed this structure to be dismantled through undercover agents, security camera monitoring and other collected evidence. The commander of the Bucaramanga Metropolitan Police, Colonel Henry Yesid Bello Cubides, explained that “the criminal action consisted of the sale under the hand-to-hand modality, carrying it out in public view on the streets and highways.”

The gang was led by alias ‘Pipo’, a criminal with more than four years of experience, in charge of supplying narcotics and sharp weapons at points of sale. Alias ​​’Pipo’ has an extensive judicial record with 10 trials for crimes such as narcotics, theft, personal injuries, threats, food non-assistance and domestic violence.

Along with ‘Pipo’, the criminal coordinators known as ‘Dayana’ were captured., ‘El Flaco’ and ‘El Viejo’, as well as the vendors known as ‘Pistolín’, ‘Sandra’, ‘Paco’, ‘Yuly’, ‘Isolina’, ‘Trons’, ‘El Fara’, ‘Francis’, ‘El Manco’, ‘La Firme’ and ‘Sombra’. The organization achieved a monthly average of more than $80 million pesos in profits as criminal income.

The search and seizure procedures, supported by judicial police and intelligence activities, They allowed us to collect relevant information to carry out the captures. The 15 detainees were placed at the disposal of the Prosecutor’s Office to be presented before a judge of guarantees and must answer for the crimes of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics.
