Taminango – Nariño

After the attack that left three dead and nine injured in the town of El Remolino, municipality of Taminango, a virtual security council was developed in which crucial measures were taken to find those responsible for this tragic event.

The attack on the Puerto Remolino Police Station, Taminango district, north of Nariño, was attributed to the FARC dissidentsFranco Benavides structure, at the end of the security council it was pointed out alias “Mata” as the main suspect in the attack.

In the last hours the authorities announced a reward of 50 million pesos for information that leads to the capture of this subject.

The authorities announced additional measures to be taken in this area from the north of Nariño to prevent new terrorist attacks:

  • Strengthening the power foot: The police and military presence will be increased throughout the La Cordillera Subregion and the northern area of ​​the Department of Nariño to guarantee the safety of citizens.
  • Reward of 50 million pesos: This significant sum is offered to anyone who provides information that allows the capture and prosecution of those responsible, especially alias “Mata.”
  • Institutional articulation: The Government will maintain close and constant collaboration with all competent institutions and entities to ensure an effective and rapid response in the identification and arrest of the culprits.
  • Strengthening surveillance: Improvements will be implemented on the surveillance and security fronts by monitoring security cameras, with the aim of preventing future incidents and increasing the protection of citizens.
