The Municipal Administration led the traditional ‘Sampedrino Pet Parade’, an event that in its third edition had more than 500 registered with traditional typical costumes and all the national culture.

“Today I feel very happy in this event that brings families together and that is why I want to send a message of responsible ownership, so that we care for and respect these special beings,” said Johana Aranda, mayor of Ibagué.

The contest had several categories, collecting the essence and animal diversity, such as: Family, float, large, medium and small dogs, cats and exotics.

“We had our parade from the Andrés López de Galarza park to the Ibagué City Hall, giving importance to our pets and their fundamental role in the home,” said Carolina Veloza, director of CAPA.

Likewise, more than 30 businesses participated, selling their products for animal care and well-being and the ‘furry heroes’ of the National Police, Army and Official Fire Department.

“We had an event that stood out for the presence of the families and where we had the accompaniment of the police, with some recommendations on care and reporting abuse and abandonment to line 123,” said Lieutenant Colonel Oscar Acosta, commander Metib operation.
