Kallpa Sapem, a mining exploration company, has announced a new mining discovery in the General Lamadrid Department of the province of La Rioja. The discovery, called “La Dorita”, was officially registered on May 27, 2024.
The discovery protection area covers an area of 4857 hectares and 3882.74 square meters. The sample collection location is located within the search Nueve Expte No. 06-K-2023 in the name of Kallpa Sapem and Other.
In addition, it was reported that, within the discovery manifestation, it crosses: Chola 1 road easement, File nº 07-R-2013 in the name of Rioex SA and Las Pailas road easement, File nº 155-E-2021 in the name of EMSE
The General Director of Mining, Dr. María Cecilia Maidana, has approved the request for a discovery statement and has ordered the publication of edicts in the Official Gazette of the Province.
Kallpa Sapem now has a period of one hundred days to carry out the Legal Work, after which it must request the corresponding membership in accordance with the provisions of Art. 67° and cc of the Mining Code.
This discovery represents an important milestone for Kallpa Sapem and for the mining industry in the province of La Rioja.
Kallpa Sapem obtains exploration and search permit in Vinchina
The General Directorate of Mining of La Rioja has granted Kallpa Sapem, a local mining company, an exploration and search permit in the Vinchina department. The permit, which covers a free area of 9,997 hectares and 4,928 square meters, was officially registered on March 21, 2024.
The search area is located within the Laguna Brava Provincial Multiple Use Reserve, an area protected by Law No. 8,078/06. In addition, the area crosses National Route No. 76.
The General Director of Mining, Dr. María Cecilia Maidana, has issued several provisions in relation to the permit. These include the publication of edicts in the Official Gazette of the Province and the presentation of an Environmental Impact Report.
Kallpa Sapem now has 30 days to submit the Environmental Impact Report required by Article 251 of the Mining Code.
This development marks an important step for Kallpa Sapem and for the mining industry of La Rioja. However, it also raises questions about the balance between mining and environmental protection in the region.
