The Provincial Directorate of Gas Networks is working in the schools of San Juan to restore gas service and improve the conditions of their facilities. From the area they reported that since the beginning of the administration, significant problems were detected and that several buildings are without service due to prolonged outages.
According to a management survey, there are “52 establishments located (intimated or with devices sealed so that they cannot be used) by Ecogas, in which intensive work is being carried out to comply with regulatory conditions, ensuring the safety and functionality of the facilities.” While Of 24 buildings that had total service outages, supply was restored in 8.
From the area it was reported that complaints from educational establishments are partially managed with the staff of the Gas Network workshop and that approximately 20 complaints are currently resolved daily with the help of three companies hired specifically for this purpose.
Likewise, they assured that the complexity of this problem lies in the age of the cuts, some of which date back to one or two years ago, which caused new deficiencies in the buildings as there was no action to solve the cut.
They highlighted that the restoration of service depends on previous Ecogas inspections, which require the presentation of updated documentation by the schools. “This lack of document updating and inspection deadlines have contributed to the delays, although the work does not stop,” the report states.
Regarding the situation in the most remote areas of the province, they said that educational establishments receive attention through awarded companies in towns such as Iglesia, Calingasta, Caucete, Sarmiento, 25 de Mayo, Jáchal, Valle Fértil and the Serranías Zone.
