Every July 1st, Oil Worker’s Day is celebrated in Cuba because on the same date in 1960, different companies in that branch were intervened, mainly the North American oil companies based in the country’s capital.
Regarding the Cienfuegos provincial day for the anniversary, Belkis Aylin Torres Cedeño, Communicator of the Cienfuegos Fuel Marketing Territorial Division, said that the program of activities began to be developed on the 15th of this month and will extend until July 1st itself. .
It includes the development of morning sessions in the different units, voluntary work in food production, cleaning of the companies, and the sending of congratulatory messages to all workers in the oil sector, signed by the director of the Base Business Unit.
He added that also this week they will hold sales fairs for idle and slow-moving products in all municipalities, in coordination with Commerce or in the entities themselves; as well as sports activities with the workers of the Fuel Marketing Division.
The men and women of the oil sector in Cienfuegos, committed to the Revolution, play a leading role by being responsible in the different areas of production with distribution and refining, fundamentally, thus intervening in the mainstreaming of the economic and social life of the country. because without fuel the economy paralyzes.
