Prosecutor’s Office charges alias Satan for triple homicide in Antioquia

The Attorney General’s Office has prosecuted Janer Iván Morales Poveda, known as alias Satan for his alleged responsibility in the murder of his former partner and two other people in the municipality of Abejorral, Antioquia. The events occurred on October 11, 2023.

According to the official report, alias Satan intercepted his former partner, who was traveling with his current partner and another person, in the Santa Ana village. The three victims were transporting coffee collected from a farm. Morales Poveda allegedly attacked the woman with a knife 15 times and shot her twice. Subsequently, he fatally attacked the two men who were accompanying her with a sharp weapon.

At the time of the crime, alias Satan violated a home security measure, removing the satellite monitoring bracelet that he was supposed to wear. He moved until he found his former partner and committed the crime, apparently motivated by the end of the romantic relationship.

Prosecutors from the Territorial Support Directorate charged Morales Poveda with the crimes of aggravated feminicide, aggravated homicide and trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms. Morales Poveda did not accept the charges.

Alias Satan had already been recently captured and imprisoned for his alleged involvement in several homicides in Huila. Authorities are investigating his involvement in additional crimes.
