The Didi platform begins to operate in the city of Córdoba

The Didi platform will begin operating at 0 this Wednesday in the city of Córdoba. It is an application similar to Uber that allows you to book trips in cars with a driver.

Delfina Orlando, Didi Communications Manager, said that in Córdoba there is a lack of a regulatory framework for mobility platforms. Along these lines, she assured that they are willing to talk with the municipal authorities to achieve regulation.

However, they recognize that the Municipality may seize vehicles that work under the application for illegally providing passenger transportation services. In that case, he anticipated that the company collaborates with drivers in case of fines.

Orlando maintained that in Chile and Colombia there are already regulations for mobility platforms.

What services does Didi launch in Córdoba?

Didi will offer two services in Córdoba: D-Express and D-Moto.

D-Express allows you to hire a car with a driver to make a trip. The price varies depending on demand, although it is promoted as cheaper than the competition.

D-Moto, meanwhile, is a motorcycle transfer service, which will be launched in a few weeks.

According to Orlando, Didi requires drivers to meet a number of requirements, including a driver’s license, insurance and criminal background check. And the company offers additional insurance for all trips.

Driver registration launched in mid-May. The company guarantees $500,000 weekly to providers for the duration of the launch. And $200 thousand for referrals.

After that period, Didi highlighted that the average earnings for five days, at nine hours a day, are around $350,000 a week by car and $134,000 by motorcycle.

To attract users, the first trip has a 99% discount.

As clarified, the cars that can provide service are from 2004 model onwards, but they must have airbags and air conditioning as an essential requirement.

Didi has operated in Greater Buenos Aires since November 2020. And it is in four thousand cities in 15 countries, mainly in China, where the company was born.
