In an extraordinary session, the Pitalito Council approved a debt of 8.5 billion pesos. In principle, this resource will be used for the implementation of a modern multipurpose cadastre.
“It is essential for Pitalito to advance from being a large town to a city that complies with a comprehensive development plan,” Councilor Juan David Palomares, speaker of the project, expressed during the session.
For his part, the Secretary of Planning, Armando Saavedra, indicated that the community will not be affected by general increases in its taxes, with some exceptions. “It is fair that owners of luxury apartments contribute proportionally more than the popular sectors, based on the characteristics of the property”explained the official.
One of the main objectives of this indebtedness is to significantly update and strengthen the financial and administrative capacity of the town.
