The owners of a jewelry store in Bogotá continue to be outraged and surprised by the strange type of robbery that criminals used to steal much of their merchandise last Friday.

In the morning hours of Saturday, June 22, workers at the Emporio Jewelry Store, located inside a shopping centerwarned of the loss of a million-dollar amount of jewelry that had been stolen the previous night (Friday, June 21).

In the premises they found a broken wall, through which it is believed the criminals entered from the neighboring business. Those affected report that the criminals rented the neighboring premises to conduct intelligence with the intention of taking the jewelry.

According to one of the victims of the theft, a man stayed overnight in the neighboring store and took the opportunity to break the wall and enter the jewelry store. Then, he packed the jewelry in a black suitcase and waited for his accomplices to arrive on Saturday morning.

One of them stays at night, breaks the wall in order to enter and extract all the jewelry that is valued at an amount greater than 380 million pesos.

At least six men are believed to be involved. Security cameras at the shopping center show four subjects leave as if nothing had happened with the suitcase, while two others would have stayed in the premises.

“We have started a series of investigations. We already have information on two of the people who entered,” one of the owners told Citynews.

The man, who prefers to protect his identity, told the aforementioned news program that they are going to arrest the manager of the shopping center for renting to the thieves.

Those responsible would have rented the place located next to the jewelry store three months ago. CityTv He learned that they had a lease contract with the shopping center.

At the moment, the incident is under the knowledge of the authorities, who are investigating and following the trail of the criminals through security cameras.
