Premiere of northern adaptation of “The Little Prince” announced in Antofagasta

The Antofagasta Cultural Corporation will premiere its new artistic proposal. This is the production called “The Little Prince in the Atacama Desert”, which will be presented next Friday, July 12 at 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, July 13 at 11:30 a.m. in the remodeled Municipal Theater from the city.

“It is a project run by our Performing Arts Area and involves original music, ballet, set and costume design, as well as audiovisual projections along with great sound and lighting,” explained Erik Portilla Muñoz, executive director of the Cultural Corporation. from Antofagasta.

He added that “it is a work that proposes a free version of this classic of universal literature, which has been adapted for all audiences, becoming a wonderful show for the whole family, even more so considering the global contingency since it reminds us of the powerful lesson that “you can only see well with your heart; The essential is invisible to the eyes”.

For his part, Claudio Alarcón, artistic director and producer of “The Little Prince in the Atacama Desert,” indicated that “the plot is focused on the endearing journey of the most beloved children’s character in universal literature. We use theater as the main artistic language, also incorporating music, dance and a series of scenic artifacts that allow us to develop the story in a pedagogical way.”

“The story takes place in the vast setting of the Atacama Desert, where after a plane crash, an aviator finds himself stranded. Desperate to find a way out, the aviator comes across a very particular boy who is The Little Prince. The performance is full of metaphors and significant images that allow us to deliver a unique approach to this masterpiece by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry,” said the actor. .

Claudio Alarcón added that “the pilot and The Little Prince, who find themselves in the middle of the desert, undertake a transformative journey that motivates deep reflections on love, friendship, loneliness, kindness and the meaning of existence.” leaving an indelible mark on both. On the other hand, the artistic cast is made up of actors and actresses: Angel Lattus, Luz Domic, Ornella Rocco, Victor Angel, Pierina Fonseca, Franco Rocco and Segundo Correa. They are joined by the dancers: Jose Ferrán, Melisa Fuenzalida, Thiara Rojas, Bárbara Carrillo and Héctor Patiño. Finally, Isidora Castillo will be in charge of singing.

The premiere of “The Little Prince in the Atacama Desert” will take place on Friday, July 12 at 8:00 p.m. at the Municipal Theater, while a second performance was scheduled for Saturday, July 13 at 11:30 a.m.
