Córdoba now has twelve taverns that have obtained the historic seal, awarded by the capital’s City Council taking into account their uninterrupted history of at least 75 years, their historical value and their commitment to Córdoba gastronomy, among other issues. .
The twelve historic taverns of Córdoba recognized with this seal are: Bodegas Campos, Taberna Regina, Taberna El Pisto, Sociedad de Plateros Séneca, Sociedad de Plateros El Abuelo, Sociedad de Plateros María Auxiliadora, Sociedad de Plateros San Francisco, Casa Pepe de la Judería , Casa Rubio, Santa Marina Tavern, Fuenseca Tavern and Salinas Tavern.
The president of the Municipal Institute of Economic Development and Employment of Córdoba (Imdeec), Blanca Torrent, recalled that the commission that has selected and valued the twelve historic taverns has studied the documentation provided, certifying that they have had a great impact on the history of Córdoba. Córdoba, with deeds and other documents, and even newspaper clippings that date its antiquity.
The commission that has awarded this seal is made up of the municipal delegations of Markets and Commerce, Festivals and Traditions, Tourism, the Gastronomy Consortium, the Gastronomy Chair, the Imdeec and the Municipal Archive, which has provided research on documents that contain in his possession in relation to the taverns.
The aforementioned taverns, in addition to having been open continuously for more than 75 years, have had to demonstrate their commitment to Córdoba gastronomy in their menu, be relevant establishments in material and artistic aspects, in addition to having elements of historical value in furniture or decoration.
All of them will benefit from dissemination with the distinctive seal, which will contain a QR code so that visitors can discover the rest of the historical establishments and can make their own Route of Historical Taverns.
The call is still open for other taverns that meet the requirements to continue applying for this badge. Likewise, Torrent has announced that to recognize those that have not achieved this seal, they are studying creating a new program of Cordoba taverns in general that show their authenticity.
