Further

Throughout each meeting, the Diamantino singer-songwriter Rubén Giménez, who is also a retired music teacher, will share with the students present different songs, images and videos about the chamarrita, this musical rhythm so representative of the people of Entre Ríos.

Giménez is a renowned chamamé singer who has toured stages throughout the country for more than 20 years, making the music of his homeland visible. The musician is the author of the song A different land, which became a representative musical piece of provincial culture, like a tourist anthem of Entre Ríos.

Giménez, for 18 years, was a member of the folklore musical group “Musiqueros Entrerrianos”, authors of popular and recognized songs such as Chamarrita Costera, Soy de Entre Ríos, A una novia and Mate bitter, among others. Thanks to his talent he was able to stand on the most important stages in the country, transcending internationally. Acting, for example, in Uruguay, Mexico, and the United States.

Regarding his influences, the musician recognizes as his great references “Los Hermanos Cuestas”, a folkloric duo from Entre Ríos made up of Néstor and Rubén Cuestas, whom he accompanied for 6 years as a stable musician. “With them I toured the country, I learned to love Entre Ríos through the jacket,” he commented.
