“We continue to consolidate the department of Córdoba as a venue for major sporting events and as a destination for tourism specialized. Today, for the first time, we have the National Youth Para-Athletics Championship, with the participation of 19 departments and 300 para-athletes that are in our capital, Montería,” said the governor Erasmo Zuleta Bechara.

The departmental leader also thanked the Colombian Parathletics Federation for trusting in the coordination between the Government of Córdoba and the Montería Mayor’s Office. He also extended his gratitude to the delegations of Antioquia, Arauca, AtlanticBolívar, Caldas, Casanare, Cauca, Cesar, Chocó, Cundinamarca, Bogotá, Huila, Meta, Nariño, Norte de Santander and Santander.
“We have great growth in Paralympic sport in Córdoba, going from 25 parathletes in the national team to 218 currently. This is a department full of big talents and para-athletes. Today we have young people from Cordoba with a great potential in disciplines such as football, karate, taekwondo, athletics and all sports disciplines. As I said, the biggest investment carried out in the sport of Córdoba will be in these four years. We aim to achieve peace through sporteducation and culture, and without a doubt, we will write a new history in the Cordoba sport”said Zuleta Bechara.
