Around 3:30 p.m. this Tuesday, a truck that was traveling alongside the guided caravans from Trelew to Comodoro Rivadavia got lost and crossed both lanes of Route 3, 45 kilometers from Comodoro. Ice on the road was the cause of this incident, which blocked traffic.
In this context, due to the presence of wind and the rapid accumulation of snow, National Highways ordered minutes later to completely cut the route again.
The caravan of cars had left Trelew at 9 in the morning and, around 3 p.m., they were forced to stop their march due to the crossed truck. On the same stretch of the route, but in the opposite direction towards Trelew, another truck suffered a similar incident, also getting stuck in the road.
Fortunately, there were no pileups and no one was injured. However, travelers expressed concern about the adverse weather conditions, highlighting the strong wind and uncertainty about when they will be able to resume travel.
In this context, Roads ordered the complete closure of the route again while personnel from the agency, Police and Road Safety headed to the affected area, about 45km north of Comodoro; to assist people who were stranded and work on organizing the vehicles, which are prevented from continuing their journey.
