The Interunion and Business Committee of Valle del Cauca has expressed deep concern about the decree of the Ministry of Finance that increases the price of fuel oil for motors (Acpm) for large consumers.
They argue that this measure generates cost differentiation in one of the main inputs of the sector, which could seriously harm the competitiveness of the affected companies.
Besides, They warn that this increase could accelerate inflation and complicate the efforts of the Bank of the Republic to reduce interest rates.
The Committee also notes that this increase is in addition to the planned increases in toll rates, which would increase transportation costs and, consequently, the prices of goods and services, directly affecting consumers and the economy in general.
Additionally, they state that the measure comes at an already challenging time, marked by road blockages, security problems and low cargo volumes. Thus, They urgently call on the National Government to explore alternatives that do not aggravate the situation of the transportation sector, essential for the economic dynamics of the country.
