The inflation expectation for the next 12 months was 87% in Juneabove the 85.1% in May, and broke five months of consecutive declines, reported this Tuesday the Torcuato di Tella University (UtdT).

The UtdT Finance Research Center carried out its traditional monthly survey between June 2 and 11, in a survey that included 1,002 cases from across the country.

By regions, The Interior of the country reported the lowest annual inflation expectations, 74.3%even lower than in May, 77.9%.

It follows the City of Buenos Aires with 98.1%, also lower than in May102.5%, but in Greater Buenos Aires it rose 108.6%(previous 93.4%) “which is the region that, when increasing, explains the result at the national level this month.”

Besides, expectations decreased for lower-income householdsgoing from 88.3% in May to 82.3% this month; while in those with higher incomes there was an increasegoing from 83% to 89.4%.

Inflation could have found its “floor” in Maywhen it registered an increase of 4.2%according to analysts.

The rise in the prices of fuel, water, water, electricity and gas rates seems to have put a stop to the downward trend in inflation, which reached its “peak” in December, at 25.5%.
