The Austrian Grand Prix, the eleventh round of the season, will be held this weekend at the Red Bull Ring circuit.

The driver who acts as the home driver, because the circuit is made by the champion car, Max Verstappen achieved, by a very narrow margin, the pole position for the Sprint that will be run today at 7:00 a.m. with 24 laps of the circuit.

With a Sprint format, Formula 1 has just one practice session during the weekend, and in it, Max Verstappen (Red Bull) won despite having his car stopped on the track at one point due to a technical problem.

When it comes time to qualify, on a short circuit with very little time for the return, traffic becomes a problem. Therefore, when in Q3 the ten fastest drivers had to go out to qualify, everyone waited to go out. in the last two minutes, throwing everything into a single lap and hoping that there is not a mistake that leaves them empty-handed.

Max Verstappen (Red Bull) clocked 1m.04s.686/1000 for the lap, at an average of 240.312 km/h, beating Lando Norris (McLaren) by 93 thousandths and third place was Oscar Piastri (McLaren) at 301/1000.

The top ten was completed by: 4th George Russell (Mercedes); 5th Carlos Sainz (Ferrari); 6th Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes); 7th Sergio Pérez (Red Bull); 8th Esteban Ocon (Alpine); 9th Pierre Gasly (Alpine) and 10th Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), who did not get into the race in time to do the qualifying lap when his Ferrari’s engine stopped as he left the pits.

The 24-lap Sprint will get underway at 7:00 a.m. with Max Verstappen (Red Bull) and Lando Norris (McLaren) on the front row.

Qualifying for the Austrian Grand Prix will take place after the Sprint, at 11:00 a.m. of our country.
