Because the PRI leaders monopolized the spaces in the last elections and closed the doors to militancy, the Mexican Workers Confederation (CTM), historical bastion of the tricolor, could go Citizen movement (MC) where she would be welcome, said deputy Héctor Mauricio Ramírez Konishi.

After the CTM declared that its relationship with the PRI is on pause, the legislator noted that “the organization accompanied MC in the middle zone, supporting my candidacy in particular, that of the candidates from Rioverde and Ciudad Fernández, as “He did it with the candidate for mayor of Guadalajara Verónica Delgadillo.”

He stressed that “there is a freedom of that workers can decide that organizations seek and make alliances with whoever approaches them and supports; “It already modified its statutes a long time ago and can no longer, mainly to respect the political rights of all people, force someone to belong to a party.”

“The organization belongs to the PRI, but it also has the freedom to support other interests, other political parties, as long as they do not go against what the CTM proclaims,” he mentioned.

Ramírez Konishi added that “these are times in which we must be very aware that labor organizations have the need to belong and be active in the political life of their communitiesof their states, and if a party like the PRI, being kidnapped by the leadership, no longer gives spaces for the militants or members of the CTM to have those spaces, they have to go look for them elsewhere.”

“The spaces that the PRI unfortunately closed to the CTM and many other organizations are opening up. It is not something specific to the CTM, but because it has joined a coalition, the spaces are reduced and that is occupied by the leadership and we already see the consequence.”

Deputy Héctor Ramírez Konishi added that “the doors of MC are open to that self-determination and that apart from the candidates or parties that want to do and build for the good of the workers, they will be welcome to make agreements with the CTM. The CTM has no political affiliations or phobias, it seeks spaces for its members to express themselves politically.”
