Fernando Adell, new president of Asaja Córdoba, replacing Ignacio Fernández de Mesa

The electoral commission of Asaja Córdoba proclaimed this Wednesday the current first vice president of the agricultural organization, Fernando Adell Martí, new president for the next four years, after the electoral process that began on May 2 with the call for the elections. It replaces Ignacio Fernandez de Mesapresident since 2000.

The new board of directors will be made up of 146 members, representative of all sectors and regions of the province of Córdoba. As general secretary, Rafael Navas Ferrer will continue and, in the coming days, the new board of directors will meet to name the organization’s executive committee for the next four years.

The electoral process for the election of the president of Asaja Córdoba has culminated with the election of Fernando Adell. This Tuesday was the deadline for submitting candidacies as established by the statutes of the association, this being the sole candidacy presented, after the period of the until now president, Ignacio Fernández de Mesa, who has been at the head of the agrarian organization for 24 years.

Fernando Adell has a degree in Law from the University of Córdoba, extensive Iberian pig and beef cattle rancher; and business manager for the transformation and production of Iberian pork products in a family business.

He is vice president of the Los Pedroches Protected Designation of Origin, president of the Cordobesa Livestock Cooperative and, until now, First Vice President of Asaja Córdoba for the last 17 years.
