Every June 26, the International Day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking is commemorated.also known as the World day against drugsa date to raise awareness. In 2024, the motto is “The evidence is clear: we must invest in prevention.”
The global drug problem affects millions of people and communities, ranging from use disorders to drug trafficking and organized crime. To address this challenge, an evidence-based approach, prioritizing prevention and treatment, is essential.
By virtue of this the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) In 1987, it approved a resolution to commemorate this day, to achieve a society free of drug abuse and illicit trafficking, to promote the strengthening of international cooperation and to generate policies that counteract the influence of the illegal market of illicit substances.
