Luis Guillermo, Gildardo and Jesús are the preliminary names that have been revealed.
Apparently, three of the deceased were from La Guajira, another from Cartagena and the rest from Barranquilla.
The multiple crime took place in the village of Cabeceras, where the bodies of six people with gunshot wounds were initially found, as well as an injured person, who later died.

He Mayor of Rionegro, Jorge Rivasstated on the social network Security Council “to stop this wave of violence.”
The Seventh Division of the Army, which has jurisdiction over part of Antioquia, indicated that soldiers and police activated “the padlock plan in the surrounding municipalities of the town center of the Cabeceras village, municipality of Rionegro, in order to locate those who “they carried out this violent act.”
The number of victims was confirmed by Colonel Carlos Martínez, commander of the Antioquia Police, around 11 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to preliminary information, approximately ten subjects, carrying long weapons, arrived at the estate: “The National Police, after the reaction, is carrying out all techno-scientific activities to provide clarification and contributions to the investigation.”
The Government of Antioquia and the authorities, in turn, offered up to 50 million pesos to those who provide information about those responsible.

Likewise, this Wednesday an extraordinary security council will be held, convened by the mayor of Rionegro, Jorge Rivas Urrea.
Several 5-56 rifle cartridges were found around the bodies, while it is hypothesized that the killers, after carrying out the attack, headed towards the neighbouring municipality of Carmen de Viboral, aboard a white vehicle and a black one, as well as two motorcycles.
The victims were apparently workers at the farm.

The massacre occurs moments after President Gustavo Petro reported an alleged decrease in homicide in the country. Until June 24, he cited official figures for 2024, homicides have decreased by 3.9%, with 239 fewer homicides throughout the country; 453 municipalities in the country do not register homicides, and 17 of the 32 departments have a reduction in homicides.

Likewise, he added, homicides in robberies have been reduced by 32%, 17 capital cities register decreases in homicides; Kidnapping has dropped 37% and in 1,031 municipalities not a single kidnapping has been recorded.
