He doesn’t waste time. Jorge Luis Pinto wiped away the tears that nostalgia stirred in him when he arrived in Santa Marta, and immediately got to work. The new Unión Magdalena coach began the demanding preseason work with the group of players on Tuesday, in search of the goal he has between his eyes: returning the ‘Ciclón’ to the first division.
The man from Santander dressed in shorts, adjusted his hat and decided to run. All members of the banana team began to feel the rigor of what represents a stage of preparation under the strict rules of the renowned and experienced coach.
“We got up early for the preseason because we are clear about the objective, and to reach the goal we have to work with discipline, enthusiasm and commitment,” Pinto expressed through his official account on the social network X.
“This group and the players who are yet to arrive must be clear that promotion is the only option we consider in this project,” added the helmsman.
Pinto has requested a series of reinforcements from Eduardo Dávila Armenta, Union’s largest shareholder.
Fabián Cantillo, who has just terminated his loan with Junior due to lack of opportunities to play, would remain in the Magdalenense squad.
On the other hand, Joel Contreras, a winger who was loaned to Alianza FC without much brilliance, was loaned to Once Caldas de Manizales for one year, with a purchase option.
