For the fourth consecutive day, Bío Bío station of the Metro Line 6 It remains closed due to waterlogging caused by the recent rains.

During this day, unlike yesterday’s morning and mid-afternoon, there is service between Cerrillos to Franklin and between Ñuble to Los Leones.

The state company’s work has not been as successful as expected and have been extended for more days than expected.

In addition, questions arise about what happens to the accumulation of water, since The rains ended last Saturday.

As reported by La Tercera, Metro explained that everything is due to underground rainwater filtrationin one of the deepest lines of the system.

“According to the analysis of our specialists, these waters would correspond to rainwater pockets that have been accumulating underground, and because these are very deep stations, the water has continued to drain, even after the rains have ended,” they said.

In addition, they indicated that the significant amount of water falling in the capital has played against them and that the pumps that the station has have not been enough to overcome the flooding.

“What we have done these days is support and install additional pumps of water extraction and these pumps are not compatible with the passage of trains, because they are installed on the tracks,” added the state company.

Remember that, with the rains that ended on Saturday, Santiago has already exceeded the normal millimeters of water fall for an entire yearreaching 297.5 mm.
