The Russian Society of Friendship with Cuba condemned the inclusion of Cuba on the United States list of countries sponsoring terrorism.
As reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its website, the Russian body issued a statement in which it describes the presence of the Caribbean nation on that list as unjustified and illegal.
The text also demands the end of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed more than 60 years ago and constitutes a flagrant violation of international law, as well as direct interference in the internal affairs of independent States.

The Presidium of the Board of Directors of the all-Russian public organization “Russian Society of Friendship with Cuba” condemns the aggressive policy of the United States of America which, under far-fetched pretexts, continues its policy of blockade of the Republic of Cuba in order to strangle it.
The Department of State and the United States Administration have unjustifiably and illegally included the Republic of Cuba in the list of countries that supposedly support international terrorism, and the United States Department of the Treasury has announced sanctions against legal and natural persons, as well as as well as against States that trade with countries included in that notorious list.
Such actions, which do not take into account the will and demands of the vast majority of the world’s countries to end the blockade of Cuba, constitute a flagrant violation of international law and direct interference in the internal affairs of independent States.
The Presidium of the Board of Directors, members and activists of the Russian Society of Friendship with Cuba demand that the United States authorities remove the Republic of Cuba from the list of countries that support international terrorism and end the commercial and economic blockade of Cuba and interference in its internal affairs.
