The students of the School of Technical Education No. 3, Vocational Training annex Dr. Miguel Ángel Marsiglia of Concepción del Uruguay created their own company, Adapter CdelU, a business dedicated to the service of adapting automobiles for the use of people with motor disabilities .

It all started with work together with the Junior Achievement International foundation within the framework of professional practices in the 2022 school year and continues.

To carry out this project, the students, guided by the teachers, put into practice what they have learned in the different subjects and workshops of the school, designing with the use of tools such as Solidwork, prototyping on 3D printers, manufacturing and adapting the automotive parts that allow modify the original command system of a car. Thus they transform it into one that allows the user of the vehicle to use it with their motor limitations. Also for the management of the entrepreneurship, they bring into play knowledge linked to economic and financial matters.

People who need the service come to the school or contact us through social networks, the students identify the needs of the interested party and based on this, they design and develop the necessary adaptations.

Jorge Isgleas, head of the Workshop, explained that these institutional projects are carried out by applying project-based learning as a transversal methodology in the Automotive Technician career.
“In addition to training students in specific technical matters, it is very important to raise awareness about inclusion by putting into practice the knowledge learned at school, providing quality of life to those with different abilities,” said the workshop leader.

Isgleas pointed out that together with the students they created this project taking into account that “there are few workshops that provide this service and taking into account that there are many people who need adaptation in their vehicle according to their disability.” She valued that it is “a personalized service that provides an important tool to those who need it.”

It is worth remembering that the educational offer of the former Vocational Training Center No. 1, currently School of Technical Education No. 3 annexed by Miguel Ángel Marsiglia Vocational Training, is the Automotive Technician career and the Renewable Energy Electrical Systems Installer courses, Automotive Electrician and Mechanic in Ignition and Power Systems. The Automotive Electronic Mechanic, Internal Combustion Engine Mechanic, Metal and PVC Carpenter, Graphic Printing Producer and Electromobility Mechanic courses will be incorporated.
