With a positive balance, the Tourist Days Program ended

With the drawing of the prizes, the 3rd concluded. Edition of the “Tourist Days” program, promoted by the Municipality of the Capital, together with the Commercial Union of Catamarca, the Association of Hotels, Bars, Restaurants, Confectioneries and similar of the Province and financial entities in the area, with the aim of increasing consumption. We remember that the program rewarded people who made a purchase at participating stores between June 10 and 23, coinciding with the long holidays of the month, by uploading their ticket or invoice in a digital form.

Regarding the impact of the program, the area that had the highest number of ticket sales was gastronomic, with 58% of the tickets. However, in terms of purchase amounts, the clothing item prevailed. Overall, sales volume exceeded $3,500,000, with an average ticket value of $51,896. In addition to this, the most used means of payment was the credit card with 34.2%, followed by cash payment with 30.4%.

At the press conference, the Secretary of Tourism and Economic Development of the Municipality of the Capital Inés Galíndez, expressed her satisfaction with the results. “It is a very beneficial program, not only for those who sell goods and services, but also for those who come to buy. In this case for the tourists, who represented 20% of the total purchases, but above all we also liked that the neighbors had 80% of the participation in this initiative. That’s why we love knowing that the people from Catamarca enjoyed their city and the entire agenda of activities that we have proposed,” the official noted.

In turn, the President of the Association of Hotels, Restaurants, Bars, Confectioneries and Related, Sebastián Córdoba, also stated that the sector he represents is “very satisfied with the impact that the program had, because the objectives were also met. proposed, such as encouraging consumption in registered and safe accommodations, promoting formality.” It is also important to highlight that the Director of Tourism of the Municipality of the Capital Gustavo Yurquina and representing the Commercial Union of Catamarca, Verónica Favore, were present at the press conference.

We remember that the “Tourist Days” program had the support of different financial entities that have branches in the Capital, such as the Santander, Nación, Galicia, Macro and Santiago del Estero banks, along with the Línea Naranja and the Línea Centro Card, plus the support from Transportes Urquiza. In this context, Diego Godoy (Manager of Banco Santander) mentioned that “it is very good to know that new businesses joined to participate in the program, in addition to credit cards who also joined among the companies that support the initiative. “We invite new businesses to join, because there are benefits for all areas and segments, and in this way it is also supported so that the city continues to grow in terms of tourism.”

Award winners

In the draw held today, Martin Ariel Barrera, Lorena Laura Camargo and Yanina Evelyn Larrubia won the cell phones. Meanwhile, Facundo Suarez and María José Hernández won the travel kit, while María Barrera and Marina Inés Seco Tapia did the same with the baskets of regional products. For his part, Joaquín Olaz won a couple of tickets to destinations of his choice, as did Eugenia Liliana Diaz.

In addition to this, the Santo Croce gastronomic establishment won the award for the business that generated the greatest number of tickets, earning training from Banco Santander from its training platforms. The novelty of this edition was that raffles were held at the same time as the tourist or resident made the purchase, with the prizes being awarded during the same day.
