The Secretary of Mining and Energy Romina Sassarini offered a virtual presentation within the framework of the 5th International Lithium Latin America Congress taking place in the City of Buenos Aires. The official focused her intervention on the “Potential and development of Salta mining.

In his presentation, Romina Sassarini highlighted the implementation of the Mining Information System of the province of Salta (SIMSA), in addition to mentioning the tools, which promotes the transparency of information and facilitates public access to a free online mining registry. This is accompanied by updated regulations that allow simpler procedures in evaluations and procedures related to mining.

Sassarini stressed that these advances have required an increase in the technical, human and material resources of the Ministry of Mining and Energy, managing to progressively improve in response to growing mining activity.

He also mentioned efforts to develop suppliers and productive chains, highlighting the creation of a registry of local suppliers in Salta, which already has more than 500 registered suppliers, and the implementation of specific credits for these suppliers through the Federal Investment Council.

Mining exports in Salta have consolidated themselves as the second export complex after grains, supported by the production of Gold from the Lindero Mine. With five lithium projects in the construction phase that will begin production in the coming months, mining will be positioned as the main economic activity in the province.
