Since 2020, the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Tolima, Cortolima, began a process of modernization and digital transformation that resulted in the automation of 24 environmental procedures that users can access from any part of the department easily and efficiently through an electronic device.

Precisely, with the objective of knowing first-hand how this process was developed, which has Cortolima as one of the best CARs in terms of innovation, Ana Cristina Martínez, head of the ICT office of the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Santander, CAS, He came to Ibagué to carry out a day of knowledge transmission.

According to Martínez, knowing Cortolima’s successful experience is essential to move towards the digital transformation of the CAS. “We know of the success they have had in implementing zero paper and totally digital procedures. “What we want is to take Cortolima as a reference in this implementation of technological tools and the modernization of processes,” he indicated.

The meeting was led by Katherinne Silva Garibello, head of the ICT Strategic Management Advisory Office, who, together with her technical team of professionals, was in charge of socializing the stages of the process and the activities that have made it possible to take advantage of technological tools for the benefit of users and the environment.

Silva explained to his colleague from Santander how the implementation of the online processing system has made it possible to reduce the use of paper, optimize response times to environmental requests, save costs, integrate data and guarantee transparency to the user.
