The Census has progressed satisfactorily, having counted to date more than 7 million homes throughout the country and more than 850,000 in the Region. This June 30, the National Institute of Statistics will have completed the data collection work in 250 communes in the country. On the other hand, in a definition shared with the 2024 Census Advisory Committee and EL CELADE, it has been decided to continue on the ground during the month of July with the census operation in 95 communes of the country.
In the case of the Valparaíso Region, field work will continue in Rapa Nui, Hijuelas, La Calera, Nogales, Casablanca, Concón, Quintero, Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, Limache, Olmué, Quilpué, Cartagena, El Quisco and San Felipe where we will continue visiting the homes.
At the same time, Census Points and Census Number 1525 will also remain active throughout the country, so that people who have not yet been registered have the opportunity to do so. All information about the Online Census and the places where the Census Points are located is available on the website www.Censo2024.cl, along with the communes that are closing the field collection.
It is recalled that in accordance with Law 17,374, the National Institute of Statistics must maintain statistical secrecy, being prohibited from sharing with other institutions, whether public or private, individual data on households and registered persons.
