“We have very important support from the University of Magdalena to expand the Talento Magdalena quotas in our municipality and with this we provide the opportunity to many young people who cannot access higher education, so that they are trained, above all, so that they can contribute in the development of our municipality. This is very important for us as an administration,” said the municipal leader.

He also pointed out that, “at this moment there are going to be five young people benefiting, two of these through the University of Magdalena that sponsors them and three who are going to enter through the municipal administration. “We are going to expand that quota and we are going to continue maintaining it over time, which gives us the possibility that many young people during this four-year period can benefit from quality higher education.”

He reiterated that, in the municipality where there are so many limitations, young people should be given the opportunity to train, improve themselves, and achieve their goals.

For his part, the rector Pablo Vera Salazar highlighted the commitment that the mayor has assumed with the ‘Talento Madalena’ program, a fact that he valued when considering it as the most important opportunity for those students who do not have the necessary financial resources to become professionals. .

“This will positively impact the dynamics of the municipality because it will provide it with personnel in key areas for development such as lawyers, doctors, engineers, and teachers, among others. The intention is for these professionals to stay in the municipality and be able to contribute their grain of sand to the development of the region,” said Rector Vera.
