Shopping center founded in Cali, awarded as one of the best in Latin America

A shopping center founded in Cali has just been awarded as one of the best in Latin America. This is Unico, which won the CLICC award from the Latin American Chamber of the Shopping Center Industry in three categories: Corporate Social Responsibility, in which it received a gold statuette; Culture, also with another gold, and Marketing, with silver.

To be worthy of this award, which recognizes the excellence of the most outstanding projects and initiatives of shopping centers in Latin America, Centro Comercial Unico competed with almost 200 shopping center projects from 15 Latin American countries, including Chile, Uruguay, Ecuador, Guatemala, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Chile and Colombia.

El Unico, with presence in Cali, Yumbo, Dosquebradas, Pasto, Barranquilla, Neiva, Villavicencio and soon in Bucaramanga, won the golden statuette in the Corporate Social Responsibility category, thanks to the social impact it makes through the After School program, led by the Unico Foundation, where the social and emotional skills of children between 5 and 13 years of age are promoted, through artistic, sports, cultural and technological activities, with permanent psychosocial support.

The After School program impacts children in 13 countries, through virtual programs and in Colombia it reaches 200 municipalities.

On the other hand, among its projects focused on Corporate Social Responsibility, this Shopping Center carried out in all the cities where it is present activities such as ‘lactatons’ to promote child nutrition, vaccination days to promote health, sporting events for recreation and well-being, blood donations to support local banks, improvement of parks, sports centers and green areas, adoption of dogs to promote animal care and ‘recycling’ to encourage environmental sustainability.

“We feel honored to receive these recognitions that today inspire us to continue making a social, economic and environmental impact on society,” said Patricia Vásquez, Marketing Director.

Organized by the Latin American Chamber of the Shopping Center Industry, the CLICC Awards were created to recognize and celebrate the excellence of the most outstanding projects and initiatives of shopping centers in Latin America and are constituted as a stimulus for the development, growth and innovation of the sector.
