To date, only eight teams have lifted the champion’s cup, among them the Colombian National Team, which achieved it in 2001. The most winners of the competition are Argentina and Uruguay, each with 15 crowns, followed by Brazil with nine; Paraguay, Chile and Peru with two and together with Bolivia, which with the Tricolor register one title each.

The teams that advance to the semifinals will have a prize of 5 million dollars (about $20,000 million), while the loser will receive 4 million dollars (about $16,000 million).
The Colombian National Team, which guides Nestor Lorenzo, aspires to reach the final stages and is, according to experts, one of the favorites along with Uruguay, Brazil and Argentina.
