The benefit provides technological sets for neurodivergent students who require specific tools.

At the Mañihuales High School in the commune of Aysén, the ceremony to start the delivery of computers was held, within the framework of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Scholarship that Junaeb delivers throughout the country, so that the beneficiaries can improve their learning and their digital inclusion.

Gladys Vera, manager of Liceo Mañihuales, detailed what this support means for her son and his family. “It is very valuable in several areas such as the economy, since it helps us a lot, giving us an essential tool for the education of our children. It is a fundamental help to improve their quality of education,” she commented.

The Minister of Education, Isabel Garrido, highlighted that the delivery of computers has become a necessity. “We are happy with the delivery because we see it as an important instrument for justice and educational reactivation, since they contribute to closing gaps in education,” she said.

For his part, the regional director of Junaeb, Manuel Vivar, referred to the changes that the teams experienced. “The 2024 computers have an Intel processor, 8 GB of RAM and a 128 GB solid hard drive, which will allow students to work simultaneously on several applications without reducing the operation of the equipment,” he indicated.

“This is essential since around 65% of children who enter basic schools will work in positions that do not yet exist, which is why it is necessary to work on skills that promote creativity where the use of technology is fundamental,” mentioned Vivar. .

The director of the Liceo Mañihuales, Sandra Rubilar, highlighted the importance of the ICT scholarship. “Here not all students can access a computer or the Internet. For them, the possibility of improving their pedagogical processes and reinforcing what has to do with pedagogical practices in the classroom is a great gift,” she said.

The equipment delivery process will continue over the next few weeks in the rest of the communes of the region, for which the necessary coordination has been established with each of the establishments in the different localities.

This benefit is provided to all seventh grade students in public schools enrolled as of April 30, and for students in subsidized private establishments, priority is given to those students with higher levels of vulnerability based on the availability of equipment.
