Indigenous authorities from Huila held a meeting in La Plata

The Health Assembly was held in the Potrerito indigenous reservation located in the Alto Cauca district of the municipality of La Plata.

With the participation of more than 300 people including authorities, local health fabrics, spiritual authorities, counseling and IPS-I CRIHU of the indigenous peoples Nasa, Misak, Yanakuna, Embera, Inga, Andaquies, Tamas and Pijaos, it was accomplished in La Plata the meeting of indigenous authorities.

The objective is to provide political, technical and administrative guidance within the framework of the intercultural model of health care and good living. On the other hand, to review the work of local and zonal networks and the articulations with territorial authorities within the framework of the implementation of the indigenous system of self-sufficient and intercultural health.

Spokespersons for the participating indigenous authorities highlighted the importance of unifying efforts and criteria aimed at preserving ancestral practices for the preservation of life in each of the reservations in the region.
