One of the alleged ringleaders of the transnational crime organization Tren de Aragua in Bogotá, he was captured by the Police in the municipality of Aguazul, Casanare.

According to the official report of the case, known this Thursday, This is Salomón Fernández Torres (“Salomón”)who had managed to evade a Public Force raid against that gang in the Colombian capital last May, in which 27 members were arrested.

The detainee had apparently been sent to Colombia by the top boss of that criminal organization, the fugitive alias Niño Guerrero, to lead this criminal group in Bogotá and Soacha, responsible for drug trafficking, homicides, extortion, kidnappings and forced disappearances,” the report detailed.

According to the police, “Salomón” coordinated criminal networks in the towns of Kennedy, Bosa, Chapinero, Ciudad Bolívar and Rafael Uribe Uribe, “with monthly profits ranging between 2,000 and 3,000 million pesos.”

He kept the merchants in those sectors beaten with extortion, and if they did not pay, he sent his thugs to intimidate them. Sometimes they shot at the premises or threw grenades at it.

The Aragua Train, an organization from Venezuela, has active cells in Bogotá, Soacha, Cúcuta, Ipiales (Nariño) and Aguachica (Cesar). In some cases it is associated with local gangs, such as “Satanás” in Bogotá and “AK-47” in Cúcuta.

In addition to “El Salomón,” other important leaders have been arrested in our country, such as Yonayke Martínez Carrión (“El Barbero”), on June 19 in Boyacá; and Carlos Ramón Escobar García (“Escobar”) in Bogotá, on May 2.
