The Municipal Administration has intensified its supervision work to ensure the care of the grass at the Manuel Murillo Toro stadium, in preparation for the ‘Ibagué 50 years’ concert that will take place next Saturday, June 29.

The Mayor’s Office has worked closely with the event organizers to implement all necessary measures to minimize the impact on the grass, before, during and after the musical show. Carlos Garzón, representative of Garzón Eventos Entertainment, highlighted the professionalism with which the event is being managed: “We are doing things in the best way, professionally, so that everything goes well. So that the people of Ibagué and all those who come from different parts of the world can enjoy an event of international stature.”

All protection procedures are being implemented, with agronomic work assumed in its entirety by the businessmen and organizers of the event, so that the grass of the ‘Colossus of 37’ does not suffer damage. Juan Carlos Salamanca, engineer from the Equiver company, explained: “The protocol that is being followed is the same in all the concerts that take place in the country, in which the grass is covered with a containment system, which the loads that “There are on the ground are distributed equitably so that no harm is suffered.”

Once the event is over, the cover will be removed to begin the work to restore the field. Salamanca stressed that, taking advantage of the absence of the football season, a period of 15 days will be dedicated to conditioning the grass and leaving it in optimal conditions for the return of the Tolima team. “After the concert, we will start working in the next 15 days to recover the field. Since there is no football season, we will take advantage of the opportunity to do some conditioning and thus leave it 100% ready for Tolima to find it in the best conditions,” he said.

The ‘Ibagué 50 years’ concert promises to be a memorable event, with the participation of renowned artists such as Silvestre Dangond, Grupo Niche, Andy Rivera, Sergio Vargas, Los de Juancho and Juan Carlos Zarabanda from Tolima, who will delight attendees with their music and will test the preparation and care of the Murillo Toro stadium.
