One dead and one arrested was the result of a heavy shootout in Cali on the afternoon of Thursday, June 27. According to preliminary information, the exchange of gunfire occurred at approximately 1:50 p.m. on Carrera 39 and the Simón Bolívar highway, just as a funeral procession was passing by.
The version known so far indicates that, without saying a word, a minor who was apparently in the caravan shot a man several times.
After the exchange of shots, police authorities intercepted the funeral caravan. And, in the midst of the searches carried out by the patrolmen, they located a person with a firearm, who was possibly the attacker.
The suspect is a 17-year-old minor who was placed at the disposal of the police authorities. Likewise, the firearm that the teenager had in his possession was seized by the uniformed officers.
Later, a group of people appears and tries to help the man who was hit. And, finally, they put him on a motorcycle in which he would have been taken to the healthcare center where his death was confirmed.
